HAIR LOSS IN WOMEN

Whenever we think of baldness or hair loss the first thing that comes in our head is an old bald guy that could possibly be your dad, grandfather or someone popular who has a nice dome. Well, no one is to blame since mostmen do wind up being bald or have a significant amount of hair loss.
Unfortunately, women too experience this unwanted condition. The fact is,there are more hair loss causes in women than in men. Mostly hair loss in men comes about the age of 30 and this is caused by the most common form of hair loss – Androgenetic alopecia. Women too suffer from this problembut instead of being totallybald, women only experience generalized hair thinning. Rarely do we find women with androgenetic alopecia getting a perfect dome.
In women, hair loss could happenat any age. In teens for example, where being thin and slim is an important factor in high school life. Over dieting can cause increased hair fall due to decreased food intake. Lack of nutrients especially proteins can trigger a condition called telogen effluvium. This can cause massive hair loss in just a short period of time.
A similar condition is post partum hair loss. This is
common among mothers who just given birth and evidenthair loss starts about a month on wards. To make things worse, some mother who breast feed their child experience continues hair loss. Again, protein depletion is to blame. In post partum hair loss, the extreme stress of giving birth is the cause of hair loss.
Certain hair styles and treatments can cause hair loss in women. A tight pig/pony tail or bun can literally pull hair from the roots. Constant hair colour changing can cause a chemical burn to hair also called the Gaga hair loss. The use of hot irons and curls can vaporize all the moisture in hair making it brittle.
Fortunately, all of these conditions are all temporary, except for androgenetic alopecia of course where a hair loss treatment is needed. But for the rest, eat properly, undo those tight hair styles or hot irons and just wait it out and hair will eventually grow back again.
