YOUNGER MEN ARE NOW TRYING HAIR LOSS TREATMENTS EARLY

Today, more and more young men are beginning to be aware of the realities hair lossand are inquiring of solutions for this condition. This is a very good sign that younger men are more aggressive about addressing the issue now and preventing the hair loss from occurring, than rather wait and treat hair loss later.

About 70% of men will experience some form ofhair loss when they reach the age of 35 and above. According to the American Hair Loss Association, hair loss cases among young patients are rising. There some patients experience hair loss even before they reach their teens.

The most frequent cause of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia. Unlike other types of hair loss, androgetic alopecia is a very slow but progressive and permanent type of hair loss. Also known as male/female pattern hair loss, the only way to slow down or stop this condition is to use a hair loss treatment.

Androgenetic alopecia is passed on through our genes. The main reason whychildren are experiencing hair loss is probably because they have a family history of early hair loss occurrence. In the past, it was believed that increasing levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the cause of androgenetic alopecia. Later, it was found that the hair follicles themselves are the culprit. For some reason, the hair follicles are genetically sensitive to DHT and what is so ironic about this is that DHT is formed within hair follicle cells.

Luckily, there are a lot of hair loss treatment products available to stop the harmful effects of DHT to the hair follicles. These medications are generally termed as DHT inhibitors, but there are other products that treat hair loss differently by dilating the blood vessels to the scalp, therefore, increasing the blood supply to the scalp and hair follicles. Alternatively, there are also herbal treatments that act very similar to their chemical counterparts but with the benefit of having lesser side effects.
