Why do We Find Hair Loss In Women
Hair loss in women is very real. Though hair loss is very common in men particularly when they come of age. Hair loss in women is getting pretty common. But just how does hair loss in women occur? Below is a straightforward explanation on how it occurs and how to treat hair loss in women.
Hair loss in women occurs exactly the same way men lose their hair. A condition called Androgenetic alopecia is the reason why we experience hair loss. Commonly known as female pattern hair loss or male pattern hair loss. This is a hereditary condition and can be passed on from one generation to another. Androgenetic alopecia occurs due to the inherited sensitivity of the hair follicles to the hormone dihydrotestosterone or DHT.
DHT is known as a male hormone, DHT comes from testosterone, also a male hormone, when acted upon an enzyme called 5 alpha reductase. If DHT is a male hormone, then why do we find hair loss in women?
Sadly, women also produce testosterone but in small amounts. It appears that both sexes secrete the same hormones but produce in different amounts. Sadly, this tiny amount of DHT wont spare women from hair loss. The reality is, the amounts of DHT are not really the cause of hair loss but the sensitivity of the hair follicles to DHT. If a person’s hair follicles are genetically sensitive to DHT, it won’t matter if you got high or low levels of DHT, as long as this hormone is present in his or her blood, hair loss will occur.
With all these hormonal sensitivity problems what’s the best way to treat hair loss in women?
Actually, halting hair loss in women is fairly simple. Just stop DHT from coming in contact with the hair follicles in the scalp. There are a lot of hair loss treatments out in the market today that are capable of doing this, but the safest way to stop hair loss is to use topical herbal nutrient rich hair loss treatments. These products are safe even after years of use.
