But all if this hair loss problems can all be stopped basically by taking care of your hair and scalp, and also keeping yourself healthy. Below are a few tips on how to prevent hair loss.
The initial step is keeping yourself well nourished. Our hair is primarily made from a protein called keratin, so it’s important to eat foods high in protein like lean meat, fish and soy. Also daily intake of vitamins are also good. Vitamins acts as co-enzymes and help metabolize food more effectively. The so called “hair vitamins” which are vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid), Vitamin B7 (Biotin) and Inositol, help a lot in beautifying and strengthening each hair strand.
Exercising is also a very good way to increase blood circulation all over the body and this includes the scalp. Increased blood flow to the scalp means more oxygen and nutrients are being carried the hair follicles. Keep in mind, cells found beneath the hair follicles called the basal papilla are considered one of the fastest reproducing cells in the body and a constant supply of nutrients and oxygen is essential for it to produce strong and healthy hair.
One other way to improve circulation to the scalp is by massaging it. As we grow older, the scalp stiffens and regular massaging help loosen the stiff connective tissues, increasing blood circulation.
Applying saw palmetto extracts to the scalp is a great topical hair loss treatment. This is best used with individuals who have a history of hair loss. The extracts effectively inhibit a hormone called DHT or dihydrotestosterone. This the main cause of androgenetic alopecia or commonly called male/female pattern hair loss.
