TIPS ON HOW TO FIGHT HAIR LOSS

Posted by Manny Y on 8th Apr 2015

We all want to have beautiful hair. Whether it’s short or long, light or dark, a little bit of styling can really boost up ones confidence. But there will come a time when we experience hair troubles like: slow hair growth, hair thinning and even hair loss.

All these conditions can really ruin someone’s life, unless some intervention is done. From the day we are born, our genes determine the condition of your hair: its colour, thickness, what age hair is fullest or what age it starts to fall off. These are internal conditions that we cannot change, but it doesn’t mean we cannot manipulate or even change the course of nature.

Of course there are external factors that influence hair growth, and knowing these factors is the key to healthy hair growth and preventing hair loss. Below are some factors that can encourage hair growth and possibly preventing hair loss.

Exercise

Keeping yourself fit is not only good for your overall health; it’s good for your hair too. Workouts can make you physically and mentally strong, which is good in countering stress. Stress is believed to be one of the contributing factors of hair loss. Also, physical activity increases blood circulation and this is good for nutrient transfer to the scalp.

Healthy Foods

Don’t eat those fat filled burgers or oil rich snacks, too much bad oil can increase sebum production, which can make hair really greasy, making your hair and scalp prone to dandruff or other infections. For hair growth, consume foods rich in protein because this is what hair is mostly made of. Foods rich in protein are: soya beans, lentils, milk, cheese, fish and lean meat from beef, pork and chicken.

Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins are essential in keeping your body healthy. Basically, vitamins are co-enzymes that help metabolize food efficiently, but other vitamins, especially essential vitamins play specific roles in the body. But the so called “hair vitamins” which are biotin and pantothenic acid need to be applied directly to hair and scalp. Biotin makes the hair strands stronger, while pantothenic acid makes hair very slippery, shiny and beautiful, preventing hair tangles. Both vitamins help prevent hair breakage.

Iron is an important mineral for hair. Generally, iron help the red blood cells carry oxygen all over the body. Hair growing cells are considered one of the fastest growing cells in the body, an oxygen is crucial for fast cellular growth.
