SCALP CHANGES DUE TO DHT AND HOW TO DEAL WITH IT – NATURALLY

Hair loss treatment products differ in several ways. Almost all products are made to stop DHt, which is the number one cause of hair loss.
DHT or dihydrotestosterone is a natural metabolite in the body. It is formed when the enzyme 5 alpha reductase interacts with testosterone. The adrenal glands and testes produce the male hormone testosterone. In women, the hormone is produced in the adrenal glands, although in very small amounts. This makes men and women susceptible to hair loss due to DHT.
Apparently, DHT is responsible for about 95% of hair loss. Also, men and women who are genetically predisposed to produce more DHT can have more extensive hair loss than the general population.
When there is excessive DHT, it can shrink the hair follicles. This is called miniaturization of the follicles, rendering the follicles to get smaller and smaller. Thus, the hairs that are subsequently produced become finer and weaker, and eventually fall off.
Sometimes, DHT can form a wax-like substance on the scalp, suppressing the hair follicles from producing hair normally.
To treat hair loss, products that block DHT synthesis are being used. Finasteride is being marketed under the trade names Proscar and Propecia. Proscar was initially approved for treatment of BPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia. It was later sold as Propecia a hair loss treatment for adult men.
Propecia works by stopping the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. Decreasing DHT levels leads to improved hair regrowth and slower rate of hair loss. However, it can have side effects like erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and impotence.
Another popular hair loss treatment is Minoxidil, also known by the trade names Rogaine and Regaine. Oral Minoxidil was initially used as an anti hypertensive drug. It decreases blood pressure by widening the blood vessels. Hair growth was just a side effect of the drug. This led to the development of a topical solution aimed to treat male pattern baldness.
It is not well understood how Minoxidil stimulate hair growth. Since it is a vasodilator (widens blood vessels), it is postulated that this allows more oxygen and nutrients to reach the hair follicles, thus improving hair growth.
Side effects include itching, irritation, and scalp dryness. Minoxidil should be used daily to maintain the hair gained. When treatment is stopped, the follicle shrinks again and eventually dies.
Nisim Biofactors, a range of organic shampoo, conditioner, and stimulating extract is the only non-drug product proven to neutralize DHT on the scalp. The organic enzymes and essential amino acids in Nisim Stimulating Extract help feed and nourish weak and thinning hair while the herbal actives reduce the amount of DHT without harmful side effects.
