SAFELY REMOVE INGROWN HAIR

Posted by Manny Y on 7th Apr 2015

When we have hair that’s growing in places where we don’t want them to grow, what do we always do? We shave. When we remove unwanted hair the majority of us shave. Compared to other methods removing hair, shaving can be done anywhere you want and it’s totally pain-free.

The most commonly used instrument to remove unwanted hair is the disposable razor, of course there are electric shavers, creams, epilators or waxing but what makes the disposable razor so popular is its ease of use. It’s the first thing you’ll try if it’s your first time to shave right?

Though shaving is a really convenient way to remove hair, improper shaving technique can lead to problems like ingrown hair. Ingrown hair is a common problem with shaving. It is more common among African-American men because of their curly hair.

When shaving, some hair, especially curly hair, can get cut at an angle therefore having sharp tip. This sharp-tipped hair can stab the wall of the hair follicle as it grows, causing it to curl. Then sebum produced by the sebaceous glands accumulates within the follicle producing a plug where the hair should grow out. These changes are the reason for the formation of ingrown hairs.

The proper way of treating ingrown hairs is to remove the plug so that the hair can continue to grow outwards which will eventually uncurl as it grows longer. An effective way to do this is to use an herbal based ingrown hair treatment like Kalo ingrown hair remover. What makes Kalo different from other products is that it uses an exfoliant that comes from extracts of plants. Since it is herbal based, it is safe to even with continuous use. With Kalo, ingrown hair are treated and prevented without damaging the skin.
