Exercise
Would you believe that daily exercise will keep your hair looking great? Daily exercise can make you fit, healthy and improve your immune system, making your body resistant to stress and infections. It is said that stress is one of the causes of hair thinning and hair loss. So it best to fight stress with a healthy body and mind. A good immune system also prevents any bacterial or fungal infection to the scalp.
Healthy Diet
Eating healthy foods is a great way to encourage hair growth. Like any cell in our body, our hair needs nutrients in order for it to grow, especially protein because this is what hair is mostly made of. So if you’re on a low protein diet, better shift to another one that doesn’t restrict your protein intake. Food rich in protein are: milk, cheese, soya beans, lentils, fish and lean meat from pork, chicken and beef.
Good Hygiene
Keeping the hair and scalp clean makes it ideal for hair growth. Our skin produces a special oil called sebum. This is oil is produced by the sebaceous glands and found on every hair follicle. Sebum acts as a natural hair and skin conditioner, but excess sebum can cause really greasy hair and could be a medium of bacterial and fungal growth. Also, greasy hair can be a magnet to dirt and dust flowing around in the air. If dust and dirt mix with sebum, this can form into a hard mass that can obstruct hair growth. so regular washing is important to keep the scalp and hair clean.
