Hair loss is a condition that every man will experience at one point.Usually, it starts around the age of 30, but it can occur earlier especially if you have an family history of hair loss, this is actually one of the common cause of hair loss.
There are a lot of factors that can lead to hair loss like stress, excessivedieting or even certain hairstyles like dreadlocks or cornrows can cause hair loss. But the most typical cause of hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, a genetic type of hair loss that can be passed on from one generation to another.
Now we say androgenetic alopecia, we usually associate this with dihydrotestosterone or DHT, a hormone that is constantly produced inour body. Most of us believe that this hormone is the main cause of hair loss, but in fact, the actual reason why we have problems with hair loss is due to our DHT sensitive hair follicles. The hair loss gene responsible for androgenetic alopecia somehow causes the hair follicles to become sensitive to DHT. Some of us think that the increasing levels DHT triggers the beginning of hair loss, where in fact, a lot of physicians found that some patients that have high blood levels of DHT don’t suffer from hair loss, while other patients with low blood levels of DHT . So it safe to conclude that the DHT sensitive hair follicles are the real reason experience hair loss and not DHT.
