IGNORING DANDRUFF CAN CAUSE HAIR LOSS

From time to time, we can develop an itchy scalp due to dandruff. It is actually a very common condition and can affect men and women of all ages. About 40% of the human population has dandruff at any given time and most don’t even know they have it. Not until they feel an incredible urge to scratch their head and see white flakes falling off. Dandruff is always associated with poor hygiene, which makes this condition embarrassing.
Hair loss can occur in dandruff because of mechanical pulling of hair. Constant scalp scratching can pull a lot of hair, especially when done in one area and obvious signs of hair loss can be seen. In addition to hair pulling, the scalp can get irritated due to minute abrasions which can get infected. In worst cases, granulation can occur due to normal wound healing. When this happens, this can lead to the formation of a scar, leading to permanent hair loss in the areas affected.
In this case, if hair loss is to be stopped, dandruff should be controlled. Dandruff is caused by several factors. The most common one is a fungus (Malassezia) that lives naturally on the skin. Other causes are over production of oil (sebum) and immune status of an individual.
Sebum is a natural oil produced by the sebaceous glands found on each hair follicle. Sebum is actually good for the hair and scalp because it acts as a natural hair conditioner and is an effective skin moisturizer. There are times that the sebaceous glands get over stimulated and produce a lot of sebum. The overproduction of sebum on the scalp makes an ideal medium for the Malassezia yeast to flourish. This fungal proliferation in turn irritates the skin, increasing skin shedding. This is the reason for the flakes.
To stop all of this from occurring, excess production of sebum must be controlled to stop the proliferation of the Malassezia yeast.Nisim shampoo is a deep cleansing hair loss treatment that effectively removes excessive oil and dirt on the scalp.
