HAIR LOSS AFTER PREGNANCY

A frequent cause for hair loss in females is post partum alopecia. Don’t assume all women who just given birth experience this but if it does, it’s very worryingdue to the bulk of hair being shed off.
While pregnant, some hormones specially estrogen, are high. This hormonal surge is very good for hair growth, in fact, it prolongs the growth phase.Generally, we shed about 80 to 100 hair strands a day and its typical to find a few strands on your pillow each morning or some strands on your comb or brush. But when you’re pregnant, hair fall is significantly reduced, that’s why women got lovely thick hair when pregnant.
Following childbirth, all these hormones will start to correct their levels, making the hair growth phase get back to its normal course. After a few months, all the hair that’s supposed to fall off during pregnancy starts to shed all at the same time.
Fortunately, all this massive hair shedding is normal. Give it a couple of months to get the growth phase back in and hair will back thick again.
