Hair loss has become amajor problem because this condition can affect your confidence and make you look older than your true age. But do not think that hair loss only affects men, quite a lot of women also suffer from hair loss too.
Yes, hair loss affects everybody, whether you’re a man or woman of any age, this condition like creeps on you at night, and when you wake up next morning you’d find abunch of hair on your pillow. It affects anyone at any age.
So, what can we do about hair loss?
To begin with, we shoulddeterminethe cause of hair loss, because some types don’t even need a hair loss treatment, these types spontaneously grow back once the triggering factor is identified. Common causes of hair loss are below.
Androgenetic alopecia: This the most common cause of hair loss ever. Men, women of any age can have develop this type of hair loss. Thought androgenetic alopecia typically starts by the age of 30, it can occur even on young teenagers. This is a genetic type of hair loss, meaning it is hereditary. Hair loss occurs because of the genetic sensitivity of the hair follicles to a hormone called dihydrotestosterone or DHT. This hormone is naturally produced in the body and one way to treating this type of hair loss is to stop DHT itself. There are a lot of hair loss treatments today that does this; there are treatments that are taken internally as a pill or topical solutions that are directly applied to the scalp.
Telogen effluvium: This is common type of hair loss among people who take dieting to the extreme, people who are over stressed and mothers who just given birth. All in all, this is triggered by too much stress that the body cannot handle, causing all the hair follicles to convert to the telogen phase of the hair growth cycle. Fortunately, this is all temporary. Once the stressful conditions are resolved hair will eventually grow back.
Traction alopecia is another common cause of hair loss for those who keep their hair on a tight bun or pony tail. Because of too much tension, hairs are literally pulled out from the roots, causing bald spots. Again, this is a temporary type of hair loss and by loosening up those hair styles hair loss can be prevented.
