FREQUENT HAIR COLOUR CHANGE CAUSES PROMINENT CELEBRITY TO LOSE HAIR

The most up-to-date celebrity news is the fact composer turned singing super star Lady Gaga is having hair problems. Not even the most advanced hair loss treatment can help Gaga’s hair because it has been chemically treated for so long, the effects are irreversible and she has to wait for new hair to grow back.
The Alejandro singer naturally has dark brown hair, but her brown hair won’t match her fashion style so she constantly changes hair colours, which she became famous for.
How can hair dyeing damage hair?
Well, dyeing the hair is not really damaging if after care is done properly. The trouble with Lady Gaga was the combination of constant hair colour changes, constant hair styling (you know how she fixes up her amazing do, right?), and constant hair exposure to chemical styling products. Just give your hair a break from time to time and everything will be just fine.
But the most damaging of all of the above is still hair colouring. The entire process of hair dyeing involves the use of two chemical products, namely hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. Both are used to open the hair cuticle. By the way, the cuticle is the transparent outer shell of hair. It looks very similar to fish scales. The cuticle serves as a shield and protects the inner and much softer cortex of the hair. Beautiful hair reflects the health of the cuticle but the inner core or the cortex contains melanin which is a pigment that gives colour to hair.
Going back to hair dyeing, after the cuticles open up, this allows the chemicals to penetrate deep inside the hair, stripping it of its natural hair colour and at the same time allowing the artificial colour pigment to seep into the cortex, replacing melanin. A few minutes later, when the process is complete, the hair dye is washed off and so does the natural oil of the hair, leaving it very dry. At this point, hair is very prone to breakage since it is relatively dried out and with no oil, moisture inside the cuticle can easily escape making hair even drier. Now, applying good quality hair conditioner and probably some Vitamin B5 will do the trick and everything is back to normal – great.
The bottom line is never abuse your hair or anything else in your body. There are some reports that Lady Gaga also suffers from chronic heel pain because of wearing extremely high heels.
