We all want to our hair to growth healthy and beautiful, and the best way to do this is provide all the nutrients the hair needs for healthy hair growth.
Normally, our hair grows about half an inch a month. In a year, our hair can grow around six inches, not much for a long years wait. But if you feel that your hair is growing really slow and want it growing back to its normal rate or faster even, then the first thing you should do is to consume the right foods and nutrients to get your hair growing back again.
Protein
Protein is very important for hair growth because this is what hair is mostly made of. So, healthy amounts of protein taken daily is imperative for hair growth. Foods rich in protein are milk, cheese, lentils, soya beans and lean meats from pork, beef and chicken.
Right Oils
Oils like Omega 3 fatty acids are essential to both a healthy lifestyle and healthy hair production. Consuming fats in moderation is needed to help maintain healthy hair and skin as well. Not only that, oils are also needed to help the body process fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K).
Vitamins For Hair Growth
Vitamins are nutrients the body needs to function properly. Generally, vitamins act as co-enzymes that help metabolize food more efficiently. Also, vitamins have specific roles in the body, but getting less and even too much of a certain vitamin will cause a specific disease, so it is important to take only recommended doses daily.
As for hair, the so called “hair vitamins” are biotin and pantothenic acid. Both vitamins beautify and strengthen hair by preventing hair breakage and both vitamins should be directly applied to hair and scalp. Specifically, biotin strengthen each hair strands, while pantothenic acid or provitamin B5 makes hair really slippery, shiny and soft, making combing or brushing really easy.
