It is anunavoidable fact that most of us will suffer from hair loss. This unwelcomecondition is mainly seen among older folks, but it typically starts when we reach the age of thirty years old. But there are someunlucky individuals who start to experience hair loss at a younger age, like in their early 20s or teens.
In reality, hair loss can start at any age and can affect anyone irrespective of whatthe gender. Many cases of hair loss can be treated easily particularly when the patient is still young. This is mostly as a result of neglect or improper care of the scalp and hair. A lot are caused by lack of food intake, especially for youngsters who are on a diet, and do not know the proper procedure of dieting. Iron and vitamin deficiencies can also contribute to hair loss. If all of the conditions above are corrected hair will grow back naturally even without the use of a hair loss treatment.
Then again, genetic types of hair loss like androgenetic alopecia can cause permanent hair loss. This occurs because for some reason the hair follicles of patients who have this type of hair loss are sensitive to a hormone called dihydrotesosterone or DHT. This hormone is an active metabolite of testosterone. When the enzyme 5-alpha reductase reacts with testosterone, DHT is formed. What is so surprising about this is that the transformation occurs in specialized cells in the body and this includes hair follicle cells.
In spite of proper nutrition or vitamin and mineral supplements can’t help simulate new hair growth in androgenetic alopecia. The only way to get hair growing back is to stop the production of DHT. Fortunately, there are a lot of hair loss treatments on the market and these products really help stimulate hair growth.
