Just about everywhere in the internet you can find a lot of articles, discussion and forums about men dealing and battling about with hair loss. Generally, you can read about men who are just beginning to experience the early signs of hair loss go crazy and panicky as if it’s the end of their life. DHT stands for dihydrotestosterone, a potent androgen which come from the male hormone testosterone. Testosterone is converted to DHT when acted upon by 5 alpha reductase, an enzyme.

Most widely used hair loss treatments stops the developmentof the enzyme 5 alpha redutase, therefore, stop the production for DHT. But these treatments are meant to be used for men only. Women are prohibited to use this type of hair loss treatments due to the danger in which if pregnancy occurs, the inhibition of DHT can cause adverse effects to the fetus.

Luckily, there are other DHT inhibitors that aren’t in pill form. Anti-DHT shampoos are also available and are just as effective. What’s so great about these products is that they are safe even after years of use.
