FACTORS BEHIND HAIR LOSS AND HOW TO TREAT IT

Both men and women have a common problem when it comes to hair loss. Most individuals freak out when they find clumps of hair after grooming. Who wouldn’t? It is truly alarming to suddenly find loads of hair here and there.

In reality, there is really no reason to panic because there are plenty of hair loss treatment products available on the market. Though there are a variety of products to choose from, choosing the right product for your type of hair loss is very important.

Generally, there are three phases of hair growth: anagen, catagen, and the telogen phase. Anagen phase is the time where hair actively grows.. Catagen phase is the transitional phase where the hair bulbs and strands become thinner. This is all carried out in preparation for the next phase. Anagen phase is the phase when hair falls out. These three phases is actually one hair growth cycle, that typically last for three to six years before it starts all over again. We typically shed about 80 to 120 hair strands a day and any more hair shedding is considered hair loss.

One serious issue about hair loss is there are numerous causes that can lead to increase hair fall. This makes it a bit tough to choose the right hair loss product. You can’t just grab any treatment out there; you need to know exactly what is causing the hair loss. For this reason, it is best to seek professional help from a doctor or better a trichologist.

To offer you a heads up, common causes of hair loss are: stress, malnutrition, over dieting, lack of vitamin and mineral intake, certain medications and of course genetics.

Stress and over dieting can trigger a hair loss condition called telogen effluvium. This causes sudden massive hair loss in just a short period of time. As mentioned earlier, the telogen phase is the phase of active shedding. Imagine if hair goes into to the phase all at the same time.

Fortunately, telogen effluvium is temporary. Once the stress full event have passed or the over dieting have be stopped and continued to eat healthy foods, hair will grow back eventually with no permanent bald spots or hair loss.
