DO PRENATAL VITAMINS PROMOTE FAST HAIR GROWTH?

We all want our hair to look beautiful and healthy. Unfortunately, there are times when we suffer from hair problems like slow hair growth and even hair loss. So it is natural to look for solutions to treat or even prevent these hair problems.
There are ways to get hair growing fast, but don’t be a victim of hair growth myths because if you do, your hair problem won’t go away. One popular fast hair growth myth are prenatal vitamins. Well, if you look at it, pregnant women really do have thick and beautiful hair. So does this mean that prenatal vitamins actually help promote fast hair growth?
Sadly, this is not true. Prenatal vitamins do not contribute to fast hair growth, or promote healthy and beautiful hair. Compared to your regular vitamins, some the ingredients of prenatal vitamins have higher values or lower values.
Folic acid is one good example that has higher values or dosage. This vitamin is needed because it prevent neural birth condition called spina bifida, which is the incomplete closure of the embryonic neural tube. Your regular vitamin supplements contain 400 mcg of folic acid, prenatal vitamins contain 600 mcg.
Iron is also increased from 18 mg to 27 mg per day. This is one good reason why prenatal vitamins should not be taken for non-pregnant women because of the danger of iron intoxication, which can cause nausea and vomiting, constipation or even death.
We typically need 1000 mg of calcium per day. Calcium in prenatal vitamins only contains 200 to 300 mg, way below our daily calcium needs.
If it’s not prenatal vitamins, why do pregnant women have lavishly beautiful hair?
The reason behind this is because of their sudden surge or high levels of the estrogen. This hormone goes up and down during monthly periods, but when you’re pregnant the levels are constantly high, which benefits healthy and fast hair growth. It’s like hair fertilizer.
