For many years, people across the world have been dealing with hair loss. Whether you’re a man or a woman, young or old, this unwanted condition will take away your confidence in an instant, specifically if youneglect your hair.
You may not know it but there are many of causes of hair loss like stress, certain health conditions, medications, too much dieting and many more. But of all the causes, androgenetic alopecia or male/female pattern hair loss is the most common.Androgenetic alopecia is a
hereditary type of hair loss, it is passes on through generations with families with this hair loss gene. The beginning of hair fall usually starts by 30 years of age, but there some casesthat it starts earlier depending on the gene.In men, it usually starts with a receding hair line, that slowly progress upward to the crown and back.
Sometimes, what is left is just a rim of hair along the temples to the back of the head. In worst cases, total baldness can occur. In women,
there isn’t any receding hair line but a slow progression ofgeneralized hair thinning. What use to be dense thick hair, slowly becomes sparse and thin, until the scalp and crown could literally be seen. Fortunately, total baldness is rare in women.Androgenetic alopecia occurs
due to a genetic sensitivity of the scalp hair follicles to a hormone called dihydrotestosterone or DHT. This is actually a male hormone, DHT come fromtestosterone when acted upon by 5 alpha reductase, an enzyme. What is so amazing about this is that, this hormonal transformation from testosterone to DHT occurs on the hair follicles, and this is actually killing the follicles on the head. Body hair follicles are unaffected, actually, DHT stimulates body hair growth.Today, there are different kinds of hair loss treatment products available on the market. Some focus on increasing the blood circulation to the scalp. Others stop or inhibit the production of DHT. One product, feed the hair with nutrients and vitamins by directly apply it to the scalp.
Treating Male/female pattern hair loss is a lifelong commitment because for whatever reason the treatment is stopped, it is expected to experience hair loss again.
