TATTOO COST: HOW MUCH DOES GETTING A TATTOO COST?

Are you planning to get a tattoo? Is this your first time getting one? You’ve search the net about the pain, what tattoo design is best for you, where to put it, but some you can’t find a way how to appraise a tattoo. So, how much will a tattoo cost?

Actually, it is quite difficult to determine the cost of a tattoo on your own, because getting a tattoo is like buying a pair of jeans or a shirt and stuff like that. There are cheap stuff and there are lavishly expensive clothing. But for a tattoo there are certain elements to consider to determine the price.

  1. The design. The cost of a tattoo will vary drastically with the tattoo design. The more elaborate the design or if the artwork you want is more detailed, the higher the price. Simple tattoo designs cost less.
  2. The size. Again, elaborate tattoo designs need more space or needs a large tattoo to show off all the small details, making them expensive. And again, a simple design doesn’t have to be large, therefore cost less. But then again, skilled tattoo artist can make really detailed small designs.
  3. Custom design tattoos are obviously more expensive than flash tattoo or generic designs tattoo. You can always customize an already made tattoo design, but tattoo designs that are made from scratch need more time to make.
  4. Time. The majority of tattoo parlors charge an hourly fee, but there are parlors that charge per piece, it really depends on how intricate or detailed the tattoo design.
  5. Color. More colours used on a tattoo design, the more expensive the tattoo gets.
  6. Location. Tattoo cost also depends on the placement of the tattoo design because there are locations where it is difficult to tattoo.
  7. Tattoo artist. A skilled tattoo artist will change more than your average artist. When getting a tattoo, look for the best tattoo artist you can afford because this really matters. The truth is, anyone can do a tattoo, even a monkey can do it if it’s trained to do so. The thing is, experienced tattoo artist know what they’re doing, the undergo years of apprenticeship before learning the proper way of tattooing.

The best way to put a price tag on a tattoo is to go directly to the tattoo parlors. If you think it’s too expensive, then shop around. A visit to the parlor doesn’t mean you’ll get a tattoo then and there. So, save up and don’t rush because a tattoo is meant to last a forever.
